'Took the keys from Kejriwal and came to live without informing us...'
PWD's response on Atishi's belongings being thrown out of CM residence
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday (October 9) alleged that on the orders of Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi's belongings were thrown out of her official residence 6, Flagstaff Road. Now PWD's statement has also come out on this. PWD says that Atishi took the keys from Arvind Kejriwal and she came to live here without informing us.
At the same time, Aam Aadmi Party claims that Atishi went there after taking care of the formalities. But, PWD says that the official 'handover' of the property to the department is yet to be done by Kejriwal. Therefore, it is necessary to tell things in the first manner. PWD officials said that the house has been sealed.
LG sources clarified
The CMO also said that preparations are underway on behalf of the LG to allot the CM residence to a big BJP leader. The BJP, which has been in exile in Delhi for 27 years, is now trying to occupy the CM residence. Now amid these allegations, sources in the Lieutenant Governor's House clarified that the official residence of the Delhi CM will soon be allotted to Atishi once the correct list is prepared.
Earlier today, the Public Works Department (PWD) sealed the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, which was recently vacated by Arvind Kejriwal. According to LG House sources, like all the Chief Ministers' residences, this residence is also owned by the PWD. Once the house is vacated, the Public Works Department takes possession of it, prepares a list of the items kept in it and then formally allots it.
The PWD said, 'CM Atishi has not yet been officially allotted a house. Her allotted residence is still 17 AB Mathura Road. How were two houses allotted? CM Atishi had kept her belongings in this house without being officially allotted and then removed them herself.'
