Team India got Jasprit Bumrah's replacement 2 days before the start of the T20 World Cup. The Indian team management has announced its 15-man final squad for the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia. India has decided to include a big, experienced bowler in the main squad for this global event as a replacement for Bumrah, whom he kept away from the T20 format for a long time.

Fast bowler Mohammed Shami has been named as the replacement for Jasprit Bumrah. The veteran pacer, who was earlier part of the three-player reserve squad, has now been announced as a part of the main squad for this global tournament.

Team India was shocked by Bumrah's injury

Jasprit Bumrah had to sit out of this tournament due to a back injury before the T20 World Cup. It was a big setback from which Team India, trying to recover, included Mohammed Shami in the team for this big event.

Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami has not played any T20 International match for India for the last one year. He played his last T20 International match in the T20 World Cup held last year. However, after this in the 15th edition of IPL held in 2022, he performed brilliantly for Gujarat Titans. He became the sixth highest wicket-taker in the tournament. He took 20 wickets in 16 matches in IPL 2022 giving runs at an economy of 8 and played a big role in making Gujarat the IPL champion in his debut season itself.

Deepak Chahar's cut leaf due to injury

After Bumrah's injury, Deepak Chahar was considered a strong contender for a place in the T20 World Cup. He also performed brilliantly in the T20 International series against South Africa, but due to a back injury, he had to sit out of the ODI series. After a few days, the BCCI announced his exclusion from the T20 World Cup as well.
