Damoh, Illegal felling of timber and exploits of wood thieves keep coming to light from different places of Damoh district, but now the thieves have become so bold that they have started targeting private land also.

And the revenue or forest land received on the way passes through it but the people responsible do not even know about it. Once again a case has come to light from Gorkha near Jabera, from where wood thieves cut down a very big tree and took it away, which looks like it must have been taken away by some vehicle but no one got the news from which it can be guessed. It is possible that they too have information about the working methods of those responsible. The matter of cutting of such a big tree and its disappearance came to light when Naseer, the employee who came here to take care of it, saw the cut parts of the tree. He told that in the past too trees have been stolen from here, those responsible should be taken seriously and Strict steps should be taken to stop illegal logging. There is a forest area around here, yet thefts are still happening.
