Damoh, Teacher Madhav Patel's first objective was to bring students to school, to ensure their attendance, because if students do not come to school, it will not be possible to teach them. For this, Madhav Patel made two attempts, the first attempt was to start giving weekly awards, in which the student who comes to school for the whole day in a week without a gap, his name was written on the school board for a week and he was also given a chance to attend the prayer meeting, other children were inspired by this, that if he got it, then I can also get it. This awakened a new consciousness in the students and Madhav Patel's mind started to sway and he kept moving forward, today the journey of teacher Madhav Patel kept moving forward like this and he succeeded in his goal when he was honored with the National Teacher Award by the President on 05 September on the occasion of Teachers' Day. Madhav Patel, a teacher of Government Navin Madhyamik Shala Lidhora of Batiagarh block of Damoh district, started his teaching career in 2007 and first of all tried to ensure the presence and retention of students. After this, to eliminate the learning gap of students during the Corona period, he innovated the field school along with mohalla classes and identified volunteers by making learning boards in each mohalla, as well as got the difficult concepts of the subject written at the main places of the village, so that the students' eyes fall on those concepts again and again and they can read them. To connect the students as well as the parents with the library, he implemented the concept of a roaming library, kept it on a motorcycle and contacted the parents, gave them books to read and invited them to the library, built a science wall to awaken the curiosity of science in the students.
The journey did not end here, he worked hard continuously, made groups of students through old newspapers and gave them tasks of noun, pronoun, adjective and got grammar studied without any stress. Also, by simplifying difficult concepts through sports activities, he made the teaching process accessible to the students. By continuing with the various innovations that came to mind during Covid, the students achieved special educational achievement.
Teacher Madhav Patel made a place in the minds of children and parents by changing his teaching process by understanding the educational needs of the children. He received the State Level Teacher Award in the year 2020 for staying connected with the children during the Corona period and for innovations in the year 2020. Case Study was selected in NCERT for the success of efforts to increase the attendance of students. Learning board, writing of difficult concepts, initiative to connect parents with the library etc. have been the major works.
Parent Ganesh Kushwaha says that the Mohalla classes conducted by the teachers during the Corona period kept the educational level of our children intact and they are studying well in the next classes. Students Neeraj Rajput, Bhagwan Singh Rajput say that due to the study done in the Mohalla class during the Corona period, now we are able to easily understand the syllabus in the next classes.
