Katni, it is written in all religions that serving the poor is the greatest service. The work of distributing free blankets to protect from the biting cold was done by social worker and District President of Samajwadi Party Dr. AK Khan in Peerbaba. He has set an example of true human service by distributing blankets to about a thousand poor women and men, which is being done continuously for many years. Dr. AK Khan has also taken up the task of helping in the marriage of the daughters of the poor and till now he has got more than 5000 daughters married. Dr. AK Khan told that for the last 20 years he has been distributing free blankets to the poor in the cold season. These women who came from far-flung rural areas looked happy after receiving the blankets, so he expressed his happiness by giving blessings. Bhajans were sung with the accompaniment of drums and a get-together programme was also organised among the women who had come from remote areas.
