Bihar Bandh has been organized on the call of India Mahagathbandhan on 9th July 2025 in protest against the intensive revision campaign of voter list in Bihar by the Election Commission of India, New Delhi. In support of this, Mahagathbandhan workers took out a torch procession in Siwan city on 8th July.

This torch procession started from Ambedkar Chowk and reached various places via the main routes of the city. A large number of Mahagathbandhan supporters participated in the procession and raised slogans against the central and state government.

Talking to reporters on this occasion, RJD leader Ajay Bhaskar Chauhan said that there is a well-planned conspiracy of the NDA government behind the intensive revision program being run by the Election Commission. Through this, the names of backward, extremely backward, Dalits and minorities of Bihar are being removed from the voter list and they are being deprived of the right to vote. RJD and India Mahagathbandhan strongly oppose this. He appealed to all sections of Siwan to make the Bihar Bandh on July 9 a success.

RJD leaders Anwarul Haque, Arun Gupta, Lilavati Giri, district spokesperson Umesh Kumar, city president Ramesh Yadav, block president Kanhaiya Yadav, Parvez Alam, Chandrama Yadav, Amarkant Yadav, Inamul Haque Jhunna, engineer Shoaib Alam, Mahfooz Alam, Gabbar Yadav, Sarfaraz Alam, Rahul Yadav and hundreds of other workers were present in the torchlight procession.
