Maihar, after not getting ticket from BJP, now former Maihar MLA Narayan Tripathi will contest from Maihar seat from his own party Vindhya Janata Party (VJP). The Election Commission has also allotted election symbols of two sugarcanes and one farmer to his party on Friday. Sources close to Narayan said that he himself will contest the elections from Maihar. Whereas the party will field candidates on many other seats also. Let us tell you that Narayan, who has been elected MLA from Maihar four times, was elected MLA from Samajwadi Party in 2003. Whereas in 2013, he reached the Assembly after winning the elections from Congress. Meanwhile, in the year 2009 he also contested the Lok Sabha elections. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, despite being a Congress MLA, he became MLA from Maihar for the fourth time, but during this tenure, his closeness with Congress and the then Chief Minister Kamal Nath increased to such an extent that his attitude became rebellious towards BJP. Despite being a BJP MLA, he was not seen with the BJP. But during this period neither he left BJP nor BJP left him. The BJP canceled Narayan's ticket for the 2023 elections and declared Shrikant Chaturvedi, who had lost to him by 2,984 votes as a Congress candidate in the last election, as its candidate. This decision of the BJP did not seem unexpected to anyone, but on Thursday night, the Congress By declaring Dharmesh Ghai as the candidate from Maihar instead of Narayan, it not only shocked Narayan but also surprised the common voters.
