Indore, Passenger bus operators in Indore district have been told to operate passenger buses in a completely safe manner during rainy season. Also follow traffic rules. They have been instructed that action will be taken if negligence is found.

In this regard, a meeting of passenger bus operators was held in Regional Transport Office Indore. In which the bus operators present were given guidelines for safe operation of vehicles during rainy season. Assistant Regional Transport Officer Mr. Rajesh Gupta gave information about the rules and instructions. They were told not to cross the bridge in the middle of the route if there is water flow. Complete the oiling work of the vehicle's brakes and steering etc. Ensure that vehicles are driven at a controlled speed. Ensure that all technical work in the vehicle is completed before the rainy season. It should be ensured that the wiper and brake light, fog lamp, indicator, headlight on the front windshield of the vehicle are working properly. Read the signs on the bridges carefully and follow the warnings given by the police administration. Drivers should not talk on mobile while driving. The entry and exit doors of the vehicle should be separate and the emergency door should be opening properly and there should be no obstruction in opening it. It is necessary to have a fire extinguisher (in working condition) and first aid box in the vehicle. If there is water on the bridge, the vehicle should not be taken across the bridge under pressure of any passenger travelling in the bus. Drive the vehicle only if the vehicle has valid documents (registration certificate, insurance, fitness and permit). It is mandatory for the driver to have a valid license and to be authorised to drive a public service vehicle. The driver should hand over his mobile to the conductor before sitting on the driving seat of the vehicle, do not use the mobile while driving under any circumstances. During rain keep a little more distance from the vehicles on the road so that if required the vehicle can be stopped comfortably. Never apply heavy brakes during rain as it may cause the vehicle to skid. There is a fear of the vehicle skidding due to bad tyres so get the tyres checked and get them replaced if needed. Keep checking the air pressure from time to time, also get the tyre kept separately in the vehicle for the stepney checked.
