Balaghat | Lalbarra, TB Free Gram Panchayat Award Distribution Program was organized in District Panchayat Balaghat on 22 October, in which Gram Panchayat Bandri under Lalbarra has been declared TB free under the National Tuberculosis Eradication (NTEP) Program 2023, for which Sarpanch Venkat Rahangdale of Gram Panchayat Bandri was given the certificate of TB Free Gram Panchayat by District Panchayat CEO, District Panchayat President Samrat Saraswar and President Keshar Bisen.

In the survey conducted by the Health Department, no TB patient has been found per thousand population in this Gram Panchayat.

It is worth noting that the TB Free Panchayat campaign was launched in 2023 to achieve the target of making the country TB free by 2025. Under this, the Tuberculosis and District Panchayati Raj departments work together. The departments conduct door-to-door surveys in the villages to identify patients and then start their treatment. The objective of TB Free Gram Panchayat is to create awareness about TB disease, early identification and treatment of TB, promote TB identification and provide assistance to TB patients and their families.
