Anuppur, in Kotma police station on 24/08/24, complainant Deepu alias Mohan, son of Dinesh alias Kallu Baiga, age 18 years, resident of Jarra Tola reported that his sister Rekha Baiga had gone to Nandau Baiga's house to fill water in the hand pump. At around 7 pm, there was a commotion near Nandau Baiga's house. When he went to see, his sister Rekha Baiga, who was filling water in the hand pump, was arguing with Nandau Baiga about filling water. At the same time, father Dinesh Baiga and mother also came there after hearing the sound of the quarrel. Then they asked Nandau Baiga why he was arguing with the girl. Meanwhile, Nandau Baiga abused us and brought a tangia (axe) from inside his house and hit his father Dinesh Baiga on the head with the axe with the intention of killing him. He fell there itself. When I ran to intervene, the accused attacked me with the intention of killing me too. He hit me on the head with an axe and I was covered in blood. When I shouted, Nandau went inside his house. Then we were brought to Kotma Hospital for treatment through 100 number. My father died during treatment in Kotma hospital. On this report, a case number 367/24 under sections 109, 103(1) BNS was registered against the accused Nandau, resident of Bodri, and investigation was taken up.
During the investigation, Panchnama proceedings of the dead body of deceased Dinesh alias Kallu Baiga, son of Birju Baiga, age 40 years, resident of Jarra Tola, were done with the team of Scientific Officer and PM of the dead body was conducted. The place of incident was thoroughly inspected. On the basis of statements of witnesses and evidence received, prima facie the accused is Nandau Baiga, son of late. On finding the crime against Ramdas Baiga proved, two separate teams were formed under the leadership of Police Station Incharge Kotma to trace the accused and the accused was searched at possible places. The accused was arrested from Jarra Tola jungle by the police team with great prudence and hard work and was interrogated wisely. On admitting to have committed the crime, the weapon was seized from the spot on the indication of the accused and the accused was arrested and taken into custody.
