Katni, Under the direction of Katni Superintendent of Police Mr. Abhijeet Ranjan (IPS), under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Dr. Santosh Deharia and City Superintendent of Police Mrs. Khyati Mishra, Police Station Incharge Madhav Nagar Anup Singh along with the police force of the police station took a foot march and motorcycle tour in his police station area to maintain peace and law and order on the occasion of Durga Utsav.

During this, the police met various Durga Utsav committees and pandal operators and instructed them to ensure compliance with important guidelines related to security and organization.

Main Guidelines

1. Sound Box (DJ) Operation - Operation of DJ is completely prohibited after 10:00 pm.

2. Location of the pandal - The pandal should not be on the road so that there is no hindrance in the movement of the general public.

3. Night security - Two nominated volunteers should be deployed at the idol site, who should be in touch with the police.

4. Religious music - Only religious songs should be played, do not play filmy or hysteria-inducing songs.

5. Fire safety and first aid - Fire safety equipment and first aid box should be kept in the pandal.

6. CCTV cameras - It is mandatory to install CCTV cameras in the pandal.

7. Electrical system - Temporary electrical connection should be taken in a safe manner.

8. Height of the pandal - It should be as per the prescribed standards.

9. Barricading - Barricading is mandatory for safety around the pandal.

10. Electric wires - Open electric wires should be installed systematically.

11. Crowd control - Sufficient volunteers should be appointed for crowd management.

12. Use of stage - The stage should not be used for any political or religious rebellion.

13. List of volunteers - The list of volunteers should be made available to the concerned police station.

14. Contact board_ Put up a board near the pandal and mention the names and contact numbers of the organizers, police station in-charge, control room, municipal corporation and electricity department officials.

15. Immersion of idol_ Should be done only at the designated place.

16. Traffic route_ Keep the entry and exit routes open.

17. Encroachment_ No encroachment should be done other than the pandal area.

Guidelines for sound system operators

1. Noise pollution rules_ Follow the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000.

2. Court instructions_ Follow the orders of the Hon'ble High Court.

3. Sound limit_ Comply with the sound limit set by the government.

4. Operation after 10:00 pm_ Operating the sound system after 10:00 pm is completely prohibited.

The police have warned all the organizers and operators to strictly follow these guidelines, so that Durga festival can be celebrated with peace and security.
