Katni, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, who reached Katni by helicopter in pouring rain, was welcomed by the people who came from far and wide by clapping. Today, during his stay in Katni district, Bahoriband Assembly in-charge Minister Uday Pratap Singh, State President BD Sharma, MLA Sanjay Pathak, and other workers participated. Inaugurated the construction work of Bahoriband Lift Irrigation Project to be built at a cost of Rs. 1011.05 crore. The same irrigation project will deliver water to the fields with the objective of land conservation and water conservation in compliance with the call made by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to get maximum production by using every drop of water i.e. Per Drop More Crop. Along with this, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav gave a big gift to the people of the area by inaugurating development and construction works worth about Rs. 55 crore and performing Bhoomi Pujan. The administrative approval of this project is of Rs. 1011.05 crore. Through this project, 32 thousand hectares of agricultural land of the farmers of 151 villages of Bahoriband tehsil of Katni district will be irrigated. In which 18800 hectares of agricultural land of 86 villages of Bahoriband tehsil, 9345 hectares of agricultural land of 43 villages of Sleemanabad tehsil, 2500 hectares of agricultural land of 17 villages of Rethi tehsil and 1355 hectares of agricultural land of 5 villages of Katni tehsil will be irrigated. In this project, RD of right bank main canal of Bargi dam. 151 villages will get the benefit of irrigation by lifting 128.50 MCM 12.39 cumecs water from 102.50 km village Bhanpura tehsil Dhimarkheda. Through this, water with 23 meter pressure will be made available to 2.5 hectare Chak through underground pipe canal system. After which farmers will be able to irrigate by installing sprinklers, drip.
