Saharanpur. Uttar Pradesh Udyog Vyapar Mandal gave a memorandum to Minister of State Kunwar Brijesh Singh demanding to set up weekly Peeth in Deoband on Sunday and to fill it in Mandi Samiti and requested him to kindly instruct District Magistrate Saharanpur that weekly Peeth Bazaar in Deoband should be held on Sunday instead of Wednesday and it should be held in Mandi Samiti instead of Ramlila Maidan. State Vice President Deepak Raj Singhal said that in the entire state and in the district also weekly Peeth Bazaar is held on weekly holiday, but Deoband is an exception in which Peeth Bazaar is held on the day of market opening and that too in the middle of dense markets. Singhal said that due to the Peeth Bazaar being held on Wednesday at Ramlila Ground, there is a situation of jam in Anaaj Mandi, Main Bazaar, MBD Chowk, Sabji Mandi etc. and anti-social elements are bent on pickpocketing, stealing and fighting. The traders demanded from the local MLA and Minister of State Brijesh Singh that this Peeth should be held on Sunday instead of Wednesday and in Mandi Samiti instead of Ramlila Ground. Among those who submitted the memorandum, city president Ashwani Mittal, Vijay Girdhar, Akhil Jain, Ashok Verma, Vipin Bhartiya, Shivam Singhal, Chaudhary Satveer Singh Kasana, Ravindra Chaudhary, Rajan Chhabra etc. were mainly present.
