Saharanpur | Deoband, Addressing a meeting organized at the BKU office Ravidas Marg, National President of Bharatiya Kisan Union Verma and West Pradesh Mukti Morcha, Bhagat Singh Verma said that toll tax should be abolished from all highways and roads of the country because the Central Government and State Government collect heavy excise duty, road tax and other taxes from the general public at the time of purchasing a vehicle. Despite this, collecting toll at various places is a direct violation of the rights of the common citizen. Bhagat Singh Verma said that in any case, imposing toll tax on any highway and road before 60 kilometers is against the rules of the Central Government. Bhagat Singh Verma said that before Rohana toll plaza, a barricade has also been installed on the way to Rohana Kala, which is against the rules and is a direct violation of the rules. A toll plaza has been set up again at Kolki on State Highway-59, 40 km away from Rohana toll plaza, and a toll plaza has been set up at Chamari Kheda on the Dehradun road, 15 km away. The highest toll tax of ₹170 one way is being charged at Rohana toll plaza and Kol ki toll plaza. Which is completely against the rules. Bhagat Singh Verma said that toll tax should be abolished for all the people of Deoband Nagar at Rohana toll plaza and the vehicles of all journalists should be made toll free because journalists are respected people of the fourth pillar of democracy. Bhagat Singh Verma said that soon a delegation of Bharatiya Kisan Union Verma will meet the Minister of Government of India, Nitin Gadkari, regarding the abolition of toll tax. The meeting was chaired by Kesar Alam and conducted by State General Secretary of Bharatiya Kisan Union Verma, Asim Malik.
