Satna, the bride who promised to stay with her husband for seven lives during the wedding rituals could not walk with her husband for seven kms after the marriage was completed. In Amarpatan of Maihar district, the bride ran away with her gang after getting married in a fake filmy style. One and a half lakh rupees were extorted from the groom on the pretext of the girl's grandmother's illness and the expense of the wedding. After the wife ran away from the road, the husband reached the police station and complained about the fraud committed against him. At present the police has not registered a case of cheating.
The incident of marriage and then the bride running away is of Tuesday. Here the gang conspired and pretended to marry a young man from Narmadapuram, after which the whole gang got the bride out of the car on the way and disappeared. In a complaint to the police, Sujan Singh, a resident of Pipariya Narmadapuram, said that Inder Patel, who lives in Bankhedi, has his in-laws in Amarpatan. Inder called and looked for a girl for his younger brother Raghuveer's wedding and called everyone to Amarpatan. Sujan reached Amarpatan on June 9 with his brother Raghuveer who was made to stay at Lallu Kol's house. The girl was called there and Ramvishwas Kol and Ajay Patel were told to be her brothers. After calling some more fake relatives, the marriage was arranged at Bada Talab Mandir.
This is how they were cheated
Raghuveer's marriage was fixed with a girl named Anita Pandey, a resident of Tikuria Tola, over the phone. Kallu Kol and Rameshwar Patel mediated in the matter. Eight days ago, the two sides talked about the marriage, but the girl's side refused saying that it was too far. After which the groom's elder brother asked them to pay for the travel expenses. After this, they spent Rs 1.5 lakh for the wedding. The wedding ceremony was performed at Hanuman Mandir. When everyone was returning after the farewell, some people in a jeep stopped them. Citing that they were police, they made the bride and groom sit in the vehicle. They dropped the groom at some distance and took the girl with them.
Despite the complaint of cheating in the name of marriage and the bride running away after the wedding rituals, the police did not register a case of fraud. TI Amarpatan KP Tripathi said that due to a dispute between the two parties, the bride did not go with her husband.
