How old is the 'Shivling' of Gyanvapi
Will be detected through scientific survey
Prayagraj. A major decision of the Allahabad High Court has come to the fore in the case of the alleged Shivling found in the disputed Gyanvapi campus of Varanasi. The Allahabad High Court has issued an order to conduct a scientific survey of the alleged Shivling. The work of scientific survey will have to be done by the Archaeological Survey of India. Scientific survey has to be done without harming the alleged Shivling. It has to be ascertained through a scientific survey that how old the alleged Shivling found, is it actually a Shivling or something else.
The High Court has changed the decision of the District Judge of Varanasi. The case was heard in a single bench of Justice Arvind Kumar Mishra. The Allahabad High Court has given this decision on a petition filed for the demand of conducting a scientific survey of the alleged Shivling through carbon dating. In this matter, the Archaeological Survey of India had submitted its report in a sealed cover yesterday itself. The petition was filed on behalf of the women of the Hindu side.
In this petition, the order of the District Judge of Varanasi was challenged. Earlier in the month of May last year, during the proceedings of the court commission, Shivling was recovered from the mosque's bathroom.
