Saharanpur, Divisional Commissioner Atal Kumar Rai chaired a meeting of the Divisional Level Agricultural Export Committee in the Circuit House Auditorium, Saharanpur. The meeting was conducted by the Member Secretary of the Committee, Rahul Yadav, Assistant Agricultural Marketing Officer, Meerut and Saharanpur Division. During the meeting, a detailed presentation of the Uttar Pradesh Agricultural Export Policy was made by Mr. Yadav and information was given regarding the latest amendments made under the policy on July 1, 2024, such as MRL Testing, Organic Certification and grants given under the policy in relation to good agricultural practices. He informed that at present 3 clusters have been formed in Saharanpur division and in addition to this, 3 clusters of mango from Saharanpur district, 1 cluster of guava from Muzaffarnagar and 1 cluster of sugarcane from Shamli are in process, which will be formed soon. Mr. Yadav informed that Basmati Net and Horti Net portals have been developed by APEDA to establish traceability of products and the concerned department has to register the farmers on the said portals. Divisional Commissioner Atal Kumar Rai gave necessary guidelines to all the concerned officers and regarding the progress of cluster formation, the divisional officers of Agriculture, Horticulture and Sugarcane Department were directed to form more clusters soon. He directed the Agriculture Department to review the FPOs in each district and prepare a report regarding the non-functioning of inactive FPOs. Apart from this, the Divisional Officer of Food and Drug Administration Department informed that MRL lab is under construction in Nanauta. Divisional Commissioner Atal Kumar Rai directed the concerned department to prepare a handbook to provide export information, through which farmers and exporters should be provided information regarding the necessary guidelines and documents for export and at the same time all departments were directed to widely publicize the policy under an action plan. Additional Commissioner Administration Ramesh Yadav, Joint Agriculture Director Virendra Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Fisheries, Deputy Director Horticulture, Deputy Director (Marketing / Administration) Mandi etc. officers and exporters and FPO were also present in the meeting.
