Saharanpur. The team of the special investigation branch of the State Tax Department raided the place of a paan masala and bidi businessman located in Mohalla Jhotewala. During the survey, irregularities were found in the stock. The investigation was going on till late night. Additional Commissioner Category-1 of the State Tax Department Satyapal Singh said that on the orders of Additional Commissioner Category-2 Vijayanand Pandey, the team of the special investigation branch of the State Tax Department raided the firm of a paan masala and bidi businessman. He said that the firm was depositing very less tax in cash. Whereas the firm was doing cash sales on a large scale. Taking cognizance of these discrepancies, the firm was investigated. During the investigation, it came to light that the firm was not doing sales as per the forms. Large scale irregularities were also found in the stock of the firm during the investigation. Some goods recorded in the forms were not found on the spot, while some goods were found in excess of the forms and at an undeclared place. A detailed investigation is being conducted right now. The true situation will be clear only after the investigation is completed.
