A spokesperson of the Central Government said that it took more than 21 hours for X to unblock Reuters' account. X had alleged that the Modi government itself had ordered to block more than 2 thousand X accounts. X had said that there are strict restrictions on the press in India. In fact, the accounts of news agency Reuters were also blocked in India.

No order to block any channel - Center
The Central Government said that it does not want to block any international news channel. The spokesperson said, the government had asked X to unblock Reuters' account. But it took 21 hours for X to restore the account. X had claimed that it had received an order from the Indian government on July 3 to block 2,355 accounts. This included the accounts of Reuters and Reuters World.

X's Global Government Affairs said that if the government's orders were not followed, there was a fear of criminal action. It was claimed that the central government had ordered action within an hour without giving any reason. It was said that the accounts mentioned will remain blocked till further orders.

X had accused of restrictions on media

X had said that it was very concerned about the restrictions being imposed on the press in India. It had said that the affected users should approach the court. A spokesperson of the Government of India said, after X's action on the night of July 5, continuous updates are being taken. Despite taking updates every hour, it took X 21 hours to unblock Reuters.

On Sunday, the central government had said that the Indian government had not ordered X to block Reuters' account. The government said that we are in constant touch with X to resolve the issue. We do not need to block the account of any news channel. PTI had quoted sources as saying that the government had ordered to block Reuters' account during Operation Sindoor.
