Actress Mamta Kulkarni, who made her mark in films, has adopted the path of sanyas by renouncing her life. Recently, she took sanyas in the Kinnar Akhara in Maha Kumbh and was given the title of Mahamandaleshwar. Now the actress will be known as Shri Yamai Mamtanand Giri. Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Laxminarayan Tripathi of Kinnar Akhara conferred this title on her. She was anointed with saffron clothes, garland and tilak in the traditional way.

Mamta distanced herself from worldly attachments

Let us tell you that to become Mahamandaleshwar, first of all a person has to perform his Pind Daan. Mamta completed this process by taking a holy bath in the Triveni of Sangam. After this, she renounced her old identity and name. Now she has officially become the Mahamandaleshwar of Kinnar Akhara. After receiving this title, Mamta completely distanced herself from worldly attachments and stepped into the tradition of saints and sages.

Mamta was in contact with Laxmi Narayan for many years

After the coronation, Mamta Kulkarni told news agency 'PTI-Bhasha' that she had taken initiation from Chaitanya Gagan Giri Maharaj of Juna Akhara in Kupoli Ashram 23 years ago. She has been in contact with Laxmi Narayan Tripathi for the last two years.

She said, Laxmi Narayan Tripathi understood my 23 years of penance and Swami Mahendranand Giri Maharaj took my test in which I passed. I did not know that I was being tested for the last three days. I got the invitation to make me Mahamandleshwar only yesterday.

Did Mamta take sanyaas due to any problem?

Mamta further said that I acted in 40-50 films and when I left the film industry, I had 25 films in hand. I did not take sanyaas due to any problem, but took sanyaas to experience bliss.

It is said that she married drug mafia Vicky Goswami in 2013, who has served a jail sentence in Dubai for drug smuggling. In 2016, Mumbai Police issued an arrest warrant against Mamta in a drug smuggling case. It was alleged that Mamta was the director of a company, which was related to the recovery of drugs worth Rs 80 lakh. Apart from this, she was also accused of having links with the underworld.
