Patna, is there something going on in the mind of Nitish Kumar, who is famous for turning his back. Today, in a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee in Delhi, JDU MPs supported Congress and Trinamool Congress. Even before this, many other leaders of JDU, including KC Tyagi, have spoken against the stand of BJP.
JDU surrounded BJP
JDU strongly supported the demand of Congress and TMC in the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee in Delhi today. Actually, on Thursday there was a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Other Backward Classes Welfare. In this meeting, DMK and Congress MPs raised the demand for caste census. Mamata Banerjee's TMC supported it. Then JDU MPs also came forward to support the opposition parties.
Row on caste census
In this committee meeting, JDU said that caste based census should be discussed in the meeting. DMK member TR Balu raised this issue in the first meeting of the committee. BJP MP Ganesh Singh is the chairman of this committee. Sources said that Congress member Manikam Tagore wanted that caste based census should be discussed first in the committee meeting.
TMC member Kalyan Banerjee supported him. After this JDU MP Girdhari Yadav also came in his support. Girdhari Yadav said that the committee should discuss caste based census and recommend taking initiative for it. TMC's Kalyan Banerjee demanded that the committee write a letter to the Union Home Ministry to conduct 'caste based census'.
Let us tell you that BJP has not cleared its stand on the issue of conducting caste census across the country. But JDU, a coalition party in the government, has now started openly pressurizing BJP. Earlier also JDU leaders have given statements in the media and demanded from the central government to conduct caste based census across the country. JDU is saying that it had conducted caste based census in Bihar and had also released its figures. After that a bill to increase reservation in Bihar was also passed. Conflict between BJP and JDU increased
The matter is not just about caste census. JDU national president Nitish Kumar's political advisor KC Tyagi had given a statement four days ago against the Indian government's stand on Israel. KC Tyagi has signed a statement with leaders of parties like Congress and SP and has demanded from the central government to stop arms transactions with Israel and support Palestine. At the same time, JDU leaders are also giving statements against BJP's stand on the new Waqf bill of the Center.
