Satna, In Rampur Baghelan Pagra village government school of Satna district, the government has started mid day meal in schools with the intention that children should come to school regularly and their nutrition level should also remain normal. To maintain the nutritional elements, children have to be given food as per the menu, but in most of the schools the menu rules are not being followed. Apart from the women's group, the mid day meal is also being run by the head master and the principal. By not serving food as per the menu, the mid day meal has become only a means of extra income.
An investigation was done by the Madhya Pradesh Government Diet Department, Satna, but no action was taken due to which the health of children is being played with with the connivance of the group and the masters. The mid day meal scheme which has been going on for years is being run arbitrarily in some schools. This scheme is being implemented in all the government schools of the district and in most of the schools, women self-help groups and in many schools, cooks are cooking hot food for the children and serving it during lunch break. In many schools, the head teacher and principal make arrangements for the children of primary and secondary schools under their own supervision and management. This has to be implemented very seriously in schools from city to village. The administration also instructs the education department officials from time to time regarding the quality of mid-day meals. On many occasions, the administration officials and the collector have also been checking the quality of mid-day meals by conducting surprise inspections in government schools. There are also instructions to serve food in the plates of children according to the menu prescribed by the government without any negligence in the preparation of mid-day meals. Despite this, food is not being served to the children according to the menu in the government Pagra school. There is no water facility. Children are asked to call for plates. Two children are given food in one plate. Due to the negligence of the education department and the arbitrary dictatorship of the group, children's health is being played with.
