Due to the increasing tension between India and Pakistan, it has been decided to stop IPL 2025 midway, due to which the match between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore to be held on Friday evening at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow has also been cancelled.

So far 58 matches (till May 8) have been played in IPL 2025. Earlier, IPL chairman Arun Dhumal had told on Thursday night that the 18th season of IPL would continue in the current situation, but now the board has decided to postpone it.

16 matches were left to be played including the final

The BCCI official was quoted by news agency PTI as saying, "It does not look good that cricket is going on when the country is at war." The IPL 2025 season was in its final stages and a total of 16 matches including the final were left to be played. The final match of the IPL 2025 season was to be played in Kolkata on May 25, but it has been postponed indefinitely due to the increasing tension between India and Pakistan. Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also decided to shift the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to the UAE.
