Katni, A strange case has come to light in Katni district of Madhya Pradesh where a person reached Katni Superintendent of Police office and filed a complaint that his name is Azhar, but the bullies of the area mistook him for Arshad and first kidnapped him and beat him mercilessly and before any complaint could be made against them, Azhar was taken to the police station and sent to jail by registering a false case.

Even more interesting is that the person who was sent to jail was also sent to jail by the police assuming him to be Arshad without asking his name and address. Actually, the whole incident came to light from Katni district of MP where Sheikh Azhar Mansoori, a resident of Kaimor, reached SP office and filed a complaint about the case to the Additional Superintendent of Police and while making him aware of the whole incident, demanded strict action against the accused guilty in the incident as well as the policemen. Victim Sheikh Azhar Mansuri said that I was returning home after drinking tea when Pappu Sharma, Nilesh Rajak, Razzaq, Balla Santosh Kewat and others forcibly picked me up on a bike from Chaman Square of Kaimor police station area calling me Arshad and started beating me mercilessly with sticks in the NTRC. I kept saying that I am Azhar and not Arshad but no one listened and they kept beating me. After that they took me to the police station and took action against me under section 151 in the name of Arshad and sent me to jail by the order of the Tehsildar. I kept telling everyone from the police to the doctor who examined me that I am Arshad and not Azhar... but no one listened to me. Now when I came out of jail, my family members told me that people are roaming around the house to kill me, that is why I have been complaining to everyone now. On hearing this strange case, Katni Additional Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Deharia was also shocked and he has collected all the factual information of the case and has also said to get it investigated at the police station level. The interesting thing is that the police station in-charge who could not see any difference between Arshad and Azhar has been asked to investigate the case. For now it remains to be seen what action will be taken in this case.
