Compensation and job not received even after 10 years.
Rural farmers are once again angry over the acquired land of Batura Open Mines under Rampur Gram Panchayat of District Panchayat Budhar of Shahdol district and the terms and conditions of employment in return. Border villages of both Shahdol and Anuppur districts have a big role in the mine project. Farmers are being exploited and neglected the most by the officials of SECL. The process of employment and compensation was started in the year 2016, but due to the poor administrative system, even after 10 years of SECL acquiring their property, farmers are not able to get their rights.
Villagers of 7 villages affected Rampur's Sarpanch Premiya Baiga said that SECL had acquired the land years ago, but till date compensation and employment have not been given. Farming has ended, many times agitations, dharnas and correspondence were done, but till date no solution has been found. People of about 7 villages are affected. District member Chandra Kumar Tiwari said that the Gram Sabha has been boycotted due to the working style of SECL. 1476 people of three villages were to be given employment, only 500 people have been recruited in three years. Collector, MLA and other leaders come, give assurances and no one pays attention. Kalri has started its work. If our demands are not met, then this time there will be a big movement, the responsibility of which will be of the district administration, local public representatives and SECL.
